The Outreach Committee at St. Barnabas is open to anyone who is interested in the outreach efforts of our community. We meet several times a year to decide which charities will be designated as our outreach partners for each season of the Church Year. We try to focus most of our attention on helping local groups, such as:
- Our Daily Bread
- Denton Community Food Center
- Monsignor King Outreach Center
- Denton Christian Preschool
- Chaupadi
- Friends of the Family
- Meals on Wheels
- Arc of Denton County
- Interfaith Ministries of Denton
Here are some examples of past seasonal outreach focuses:
- Winter: sock collection for the homeless
- Lent: 40 Cans for 40 Days for the food bank
- Christmas: The Christmas School Supply Project
In October we hold our annual bazaar, the proceeds of which all go to our outreach efforts. We sell barbeque and frozen casseroles and baked goods and have lots of outside vendors join us.
