St. Barnabas Episcopal Church was founded in 1876 and is the oldest Episcopal congregation in Denton County.
Our parish mission statement reflects our vision and values:
We at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, who come from all over Denton County and neighboring counties to this downtown house of God, believe that our mission is to glorify God through our worship and to serve one another and our neighbors through caring fellowship, Christian education, and outreach to the community in the name of Christ.
We are members of the worldwide Anglican Communion, partner churches in communion with the Archbishop of Canterbury. We believe that scripture, tradition, and reason are the sources of authority in our corporate and personal lives. We see thinking and free intellectual inquiry as friends of spirituality, not as foes.
We, therefore, do not fear but welcome diversity.
